Doing a FTP transfer test will give you an average according to time spent and bytes moved. This kind of test does not provide you with transit "state" information on the hops between you and us. Neither does it take into account the kind of connection you are hooked up by, or the hardware you are using. Doing a FTP transfer you should take this into account.
